LOVE GOD HOME- Shakuntala (Pinky)

This is Pinky. She came to the Love God Home in 2006. Her family told the orphanage that she was 7 on admission to the orphanage. She was in fact only 5. Her father was run over an dkilled by a train while trying to cross the tracks.

Her mother is unable to support her, and has a younger son also. Her mother has a mental handicap and is cared for by her mother and aunt. Pinky is very shy, and has had a difficult time in school because she was placed at a higher level than appropriate, due to her supposed age. She has endured alot of teasing, and the other children in the home have taken her under their wing. She loves to write and draw, and is becoming more outgoing. She wants to be a missionary when she grows up.

LOVE GOD HOME- Kajol

This is Kajol (taller girl on left),..the oldest girl in the Love God Home. She is quiet, well mannered. Sunil (see below) is her uncle. Sunils sister is Kajols mother. She comes from a family of extreme poverty. She came to the Love God Home in 2006. Kajol is an excellent student, usually organizes the other children for games or play time. In most group activities, she tends to be the leader. She is very caretaking of the younger children. Very confident, and is the first to offer you a foot massage after a long day. Kajol is an excellent student and makes the highest grades of all the children. She wants to be a police officer when she grows up.

LOVE GOD HOME- Sagar

Born September 11, 2009
Sagar came to the Love God Home in June, 2006. His father died from tuberculosis when Sagar was only two years old. Sagar was entered in Marathi 5th grade*.

Sagar has a physical disability. His left arm and left leg do not work as well as most people's do. In spite of this he plays cricket with the other boys and he does very well in school. In fact he is our highest scholastic achiever!

Sagar has learned to speak, read and write English on his own. He enjoys helping the other children with their school work. He sometimes makes the mistake of correcting the school principal.

Sagar would like to become an engineer when he grows up.

LOVE GOD HOME - Sunil

Born May 3, 1992
Sunil is the oldest orphan at Love God Home. His father passed away from a fever before he was born. His mother is extremely poor. Because of that Sunil was not able to attend school. When he came to the Love God Home in June, 2006 he was enrolled in Marathi 5th grade.

Sunil is a quiet, well-mannered young man. He often keeps watch over the younger children at the Love God Home.

When he grows up Sunil wants to return to his home village wearing nice clothes and riding a motorbike to show that he has become a "good man." He wants to become either an engineer or a church pastor when he grows up.
